Common Questions at
Chiropractic & Physical Therapy
Will you work with my regular doctor?
Dr. Fischer coordinates care and communicates with your physician, wherever they practice, whether they are at Gundersen Healthcare,
St. Francis/Mayo, Mayo Rochester or are an independent physician or chiropractor. Dr. Fischer will make sure they are aware of what he has found on examination and what he recommends for treatment. He will also update them regarding your progress.
If you need a type of treatment that is not available at Chiropractic & Physical Therapy, Dr. Fischer will again work with your doctor to make sure you receive the care you need.
Will I have to quit seeing my regular chiropractor?
Dr. Fischer works with many area chiropractors providing their patients with evaluation and treatment that compliments their regular chiropractor's care, not replacing it.
If you are directed to our office by your chiropractor he will provide your chiropractor with your evaluation findings and our intended plan of treatment. If you schedule an appointment at our office on your own, you may continue future care with your regular chiropractor.
Dr. Fischer's ultimate goal is to get you better.
Do I need a 'physical therapy order' to see Dr. Fischer?
You may or may not need a written physical therapy order from your doctor or chiropractor to see Dr. Fischer. It largely depends on your insurance. We recommend you contact your insurance carrier prior to scheduling an appointment to learn whether you need a physical therapy order for physical therapy treatment.
If you do require an order for coverage, again, Dr. Fischer works with most health care providers in the area. Most are more than willing to provide an order if necessary. They can fax an order to (608) 781-8621.
